I think we should do it in Moab... that could be pretty cool (as long as we do it when it isn't hot)

Well let's see, the boys from Norman conquered the Republic of Texas last year so that disqualifies TX. The last three trips over 300 miles has been to AZ, so AZ is disqualified. How's bout this, it's kind of close, has some good 4wd from what I hear and if I go, I got a place to stay free of charge, Red River, NM?

How about right here in the middle of the USA? I'm located about smack dead center of the country. Then everybody could make it because the East Coast guys wouldnt have to drive so far to CO or UT.

actually in all fairness the middle of the country does have a fair ring to it (as much as I hate to have to go that much further)

we should get ALL the feedback, and then hold a poll (twiztid's house will be top on the list that is only 2 hours [IMG])

    Rubicon! Rubicon! Rubicon!

There could be 2 runs... one on the west side of the US and one on the Eastern side of the US.... I know for me gas kills a lot of driving places to wheel. I know I am not alone here in not exactly being loaded with da bucks...

Lord is that true - only a mere $1.18 per gallon here, 52 miles from the California border.

Steve-O....i think keepin the get together in Co. is the way to go as after all it is ColoradoK5.com ....and hopefully by next year i'll be livin in GJ to boot...lol. Allthough Moab is an awesome idea..the true Meca of 4x4's!!! We need to come up with a place big enough to keep us all in one campground this time though...as last time i think we took up two camp grounds as i remember it...? Also with lessons learned from the trails last year :0) i think we can get together and work the kinks out. Keep me posted so i can lend a hand with next years event!

Why not have two K5 bashes. One in Colorado and another f at WES' for us eastcoast guys[IMG]. Its kinda nice that we are pretty unified here but I have been looking at other sites that have regional divisons(member lists). And they seem to be beating the tar out of us when it comes to gatherings and group events.

Steve, All-4-Fun is held in a different location each year. They haven't announced where it will be held next year, but I'll probably know by next weekend. This years All-4-Fun starts tomorrow! [IMG]

It's put on by the Mile-Hi Jeep Club and is very well run. They find land for everyone to camp on, provide drinking water and porta-potties, and provide trip leaders for every run. There are usually 12-14 trails in an area, rated by difficulty level. Each evening you sign up for the trip that you want to go on. They have an excellent barbecue meal on Wednesday night, then do a drawing for door prizes on Thursday night. These are held under the giant circus tent that the club owns. [IMG] The door prizes range from hats and t-shirts to sets of tires, lift kits and winches.

Warn and BFG are big sponsors of the event. Warn raffles off a couple of winches and other stuff to raise money for Denver Childrens Hospital. They also provide free burgers on Friday evening and even bring in a band and set up a dance flolor under the tent. BFG always shows up with one of their desert racing support tractor trailer rigs. They have tires mounted on wheels for people to "ride and drive". They'll swap out your tires for a set of theirs for you to use for a day on the trails, to see how you like them. They seem to have mostly rims that fit Jeeps though, since that's the majority of the vehicles that show up. They also raffle off a couple of sets of tires.

There's a fee for the week and attendance is limited to a certain number of vehicles, depending on the location. The fee this year is $135 for the vehicle and driver, then $35 per person over the age of 12 or so. I've been going for 10 or 11 years now and always have a blast. I've got 4-wheelin' friends from all over the US that I've met there.

You have to contact the club to let them know you want to attend so you'll get your invitation in the mail. The invitiation letters usually go out in December or January and the registration list fills up fast. So you have to know well in advance that you want to attend. All payments must be made in advance and are non-refundable. There's more info and some pics at http://mhjc.org/all4fun.htm
