    I bought i floor mount shifter and needed to know were the neutral safety switch and the reverse switch are at. Its an 83 6.2 L diesel

    All that crap is down by the ignition switch at the base of the steering column. It helps a lot to drop the column down for access to a lot of it.

    Does the new shifter have the cut out on it? The Camaro (floor shift model) still uses that stuff on the column. All you would need is the different shift linkage that allows for the shift cable and the column shift rod. The only difference would be the column has no provision for the shift lever.

    You might want to look into a factory style setup so you don't lose features like the shift indicator. Just a heads up...
