If you are talking about a 14bff the only locking device I know of is a detroit other than a factory gov-lock.

If you are just using your rig for off road and mud you might as well save yourself some money and just weld it.
Heres a how to FYI : Weld 14 bolt info
If you run on the street often you might want to go with a locker.
Powertrax does make one for the open 10.5" 14 bolt FF and 9.5 "14 bolt SF axles. They are pretty easy to install. You just take out the spyders and replace them with the lockrite.

Any warm blooded animal with a pulse could install a locker in a 14FF. I have ruined 3 sets of spider gears trying to weld them. I didnt do it like the tech article I tried to weld all of the seams and gaps and make it one big solid piece. Its like the heat warps the metal or somthing and I just cant it to fit back right, its tweaked out just far enough where the carrier wont fit back together.

Setting the backlash is a breeze too...its that darn pinion depth that keeps getting me!

There are the main caps like on all axles, then there are adjusting rings instead of shims. all you do is loosen the adjusting rings and the carrier pops out. Then take the ring gear off and the carrier splits in 2 pieces, there in the cream filled center is where you throw the locker.

There are a few types of lockers readily available for the 14FF. The list goes like this:

    1. Detroit Locker
    2. Gov-Lock
    3. Lock Right (3 pin spider)
    4. Lock Right (4 pin spider)
    5. Soon-to-be-ready (I think) ARB locker.
    6. Of course, the famous "Lincoln Locker". /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

My self and my housemate both have a detroit in our 14bolts.
It took about 1 hour to install. Very simple, very effective.
Running a set of very bald swampers, the locker made up for the baldness. With a good set of tires, there is no stopping you.
