lockers? what do they look like?

    when i pop open my 14 bolt ehat do i look for to know if it has posi , gov loc, lockers ect? doesnt gov lock have like 3 crosses instead of four or something?

    can you see spider gears? if your looking at it and can see spiders and nothing else, its open. if you see spiders through one opening, and at the other opening you see a few pins and little barrel mechanisims, then its a gov lock. if it is solid, and or no spiders are visable, then its either a locker or a spool. one q for ya, which way does the wheel on the drivers side turn if you turn the pasenger side tire?

    if one spins forward and one backwards its open, or a gov lock. to tell the diff in those two, snap the tire around really hard by hand and as long as the gov loc is working it should lock and make the other one go the same direction.

    they spin opposing directions. i couldnt get it turning fast enough to snap it back. it was caked up in mud.

    then you have an open diff, or a toasted gov loc.
