I will be regearing the 14sf axle in my suburban and was thinking about adding a locker or Ls.Detroit is first choice but I have heard that they are very expensive for this axle. This truck is used for trailridding and camping only so with that in mind what other options do I have? Thanks

I had 4.56s and a detroit in my '91 3/4ton sub with 9.5" SF rear. No complaints of having the detroit in the rear. It was kinda a piece of mind, didn't worry about it shocking the axles shafts like a gov-loc does when it engages.

    Add a lock-right then. $350, and a simple install.

on four wheel parts web site it doesn't show that a lock right is made for a 14 sf only thing available is a detroit or auburn.

I plan on doing this to my 14bsf, the lockright number I found was 1950, fits '73 to 2000 w/9.5 " semi floating axle.
