anyone read or hear about this? Dc police in a standoff with a guy who drove his tractor into the reflecting pool by the washington monument...
    story

my normal 1 to 1.5 hour commute into downtown DC turned into 4 hours today....
i'm willing to bet 2/3 of the people who drive in to downtown wouldnt hesitate to shoot the guy, even though the police are trying to end it peacefully...

    oh i totally agree
apparently they think he's protesting the upcoming US policies on tobacco....
and thats fine, very glad to see a farmer standing up to the government....

i just have to ask, did he pick the right time to do it, cause DC was swarming with swat teams yesterday, full outfit with the machine guns, everyone is edgy over the upcoming war, we have anti-aircraft missles placed all around the city...and i was around after 9/11 when there were hummers on every street corner and soldiers walking around with m-16s inplace of the businessmen with briefcases.....
i really believe he should have done this 2 weeks ago or held off till the area settles down some...

They can have all of the S.W.A.T. and other Special Response Teams they want, if he is not threatening death or serious bodily injury they can't do squat. They can drag him out and kick his butt, and will probably get sued for that, but that is about it.

I think under the current code orange and him claiming to have explosives that makes him a terrorist and he sholud be shot. What gives him the right to screw with so many peoples lives...don't answer that I know the answer....but they should still shoot him.

Just found out my father-in-law knows the guy. The guy used to be a customer at his old job. Someone said he is insane, they are obviously right! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Man, I'm not sure if this is supposed to be, but the idea is kinda funny to me... Heck, good for him, I wish I had the cahunas to screw up that many people's day to make a point!

Maybe it would've been more effective (or not) if there was a "Million Tractor Cruise" on Washington... Farmers from all over the country cruising around DC on thier tractors...

Apparently, a few weeks ago he went crazy and just started attaching stuff to his tractor. TVs, welding steel to it, attaching other random things. No one knows why, he just went nuts! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif
