ORD makes longer front shackles. Think they run about $60-65. Make sure you get the frame bushings also, as they will most likely be shot on your rig.

ORD makes a great replacement shackle kit that is 1/2" longer than stock but much beefier. Go to their website and check what they have to offer....you'll be amazed.

Beefier front shackles are definitly a good upgrade if you wheel your truck hard, I managed to destroy 3 of my original shacles. I did manage to chew up the bushings in the rear eyes of the front springs after new shackles, but not sure if the shackles caused it (they had been on the truck for a few years already). Anybody else notice this, or was it just coincidence?

I ran the non greaseable ORD set for a year or so (pretty hard) and never damaged the bushings. Running the greaseable set now and not having any issues......gotta love the greaseable stuff!

    Pete,
I've seen pretty good durability, but I know how you use the truck, so wearing them out from time to time is to be expected. I saw you taking the tough line across the Crack over Easter last year. The poor little bushings are kind of undersized for the job to start with, so some wear is part of the game.
