I have an assignment due for a technical communications class tomorrow, does this diagram look pretty decent? It's a rough rendition of a recentered Hummer rim, I know the drawing isn't all correct but it doesn't need to be.

Yep, looks real good. What are you studying?
Might want to change 'lightening hole' to 'weight reduction hole'.

Studying to be a mechanical engineer. Good suggestion, couldn't think of sophisticated names for the majority of the pieces.

Have to do a 5-6 page "technical description" with a diagram. Couldn't find a worthy diagram, so I just drew up my own in solidworks.

Dunno if it's to detailed or not but shouldn't you have nuts in the diagram for the clamping part?

Yeah, I was gonna say that you meant "lightning" ... then realized :doah: I was wrong... but "weight reduction" just SOUNDS higher tech.

There were these laptops years back we used to work on ... had two battery slots, but only came with one battery. The other slot had a "weight reduction module" in it, an empty plastic case

Oddly, the case had a door in it, so you could keep your stash inside ... unofficially they were called the "pot smuggling modules" :screwy:

    I digress.

Are you supposed to be harvesting corn? Ya know they started putting lights on tractors after 1940.

Yeah, I remembered that when I drew it but like I told Kert, my prof. is like 80 and could be a nun, she isn't gonna know what the hell I'm talking about even if I broke it down to "the rim is made of steel, the tire is made of rubber" level.

Oh, by the way, I grabbed the dirty orbital from Kert, so the clean one is all yours.
