I buy most of my stuff from:Gateway.com
or
Dell.com
They both make good computers and have some good specials. Their tech support is also very good.
I have been very happy with my gateway comps at home. And we have about 150 Dells at work and they are pretty trouble free. some are pretty old (p 166mhz) and they still work good.

I'd stick with a Dell if you're not into building and tearing them up yourself. Even if you are, Dell has some great prices and killer support (I've placed hundreds of support calls to Dell and have only had 2 or 3 bad experiences).

Thunder, I'd be a little wary of a Gateway right now... Their support/warranty may no longer exist soon!

If you're looking into a laptop, Sony Vaio's are really cool and priced good for the specs you get (I.E. DVD/CDRW drive, 256Mb, 15gb, 15" display). I also just started using a very old Vaio a few months ago, and I love it more than my Compaq or Dell. In fact, my option at work is Vaio or Dell laptop, and I'm getting Vaio's...

I used to buy a lot of stuff from Global at my old job. The new job uses k5.8m.com

Yeah I have heard some rumors about problems at Gateway too. Its too bad. I like their machines. I havent used their support for quite a while.
But I have used Dell's lately, and I gotta agree its great and I have had zero problems with them.
I use dell laptops at work on a wireless network. Its great to be able to connect anywhere even in the attic. I do HVAC and all my equipment is computer controlled.

I thought CDW was more B to B than consumer oriented. We buy from them also.
