Well, I need to get a job here pretty soon. I went to school for computer graphics/design, but the economy is not very friendly to people trying to start out in anything to do with computers /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif

So I need to find something cause not working is getting tough. I do not want to get just any job however such as retail, can find that on my own /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif But I am a handyman type of person, remodeled an entire house from the roof, to kitchen, siding, windows, drywalling, some framing, electrical, etc etc. So I guess I would rather do this kind of work than work retail, but would still rather be doing computer graphics like I schooled for, for 2 1/2 years.

So yeah, if anyone has any lines on some jobs, basically anything but retail, that would be cool. Have transportation and a lot of construction tools.

    TIA

Sales in a retail store isn't too bad. I have a PT job at Sears. Over the holidays I average $30/hr. Most other times it's anywhere from $12-18/hr

Well, it's retail, but my wife is a manager for Starbucks and I know all the stores in the area are always looking. The pay is ok, but not great. Their benefits are great. You are elegable for full medical/dental benefits, stock options and 401K with just 20 hours per week.

TrcksR4me - do you have a digital portfolio? I have a lot of connections and know of some good staffing agencies and job search sites in the area. I freelance for 2 years at several of the big design firms before landing my current Senior Designer/Art Director position. I wish I could tell you we are hiring, but like you said, the industry is way down and we are at a about half our staff right now. There is a market out there for freelance, mostly in production.

Drop me a PM or an e-mail (chris@imageink.com) and I'll see what I can do to help you get your foot in the door someplace.
