like the title says I'm looking for a linear amplifier for my CB and some tips for "proper use" My radio is a Cobra29WXNWST It's already been turned up as far as possible and has decent range with a Single Wilson 1000 . But I need more oomph for my tips in the mountains

Dave made amps are not cheap, but they are some of the best on the planet. Don't know what too tell you about finding a cheap one. Uses too be a buck a watt for used, but couldn't tell you anymore.

I got a palomar of of eBay cheap. Its supposed to be 450 watts, but I doubt it is. It does greatly extend my range while out in the desert in Az.

I wouldn't worry about it. There are thousands of linar amps in use on 11 meter (CB).

Don't turn it on in town. I only use mine when I am way out and no one cares at all.
