Looking for a set of \"Stock\" Rear leaves from an \'80s K5....?

Anyone have a set of "takeoffs" from a recent liftkit project?

They're for Stomper, not Mini-Me. Supposedly they have a softer spring rate than the 1st Gen leaves... so I wanted to try a set as a low-cost experiment.

Let me know if you've got a set, or know where to find them....(besides the junkyards of course!) /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

You can have mine as soon as I do my F150 swap. I need to get up off my ass, I have all the parts... I'm just lazy. It should be done by the end of the month. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

I have two sets if someone else doesn't get them to you. The ones on my truck now do not sag at all just need new bushings. I got another set with a lift i just bought and they have overload springs on them... I am gonna take them in to get the bushings replaced and then swap them onto my truck. Let me know if you need the ones that are on my truck now. Or should i put them on the 72? haha

    Sara,

I was told to find springs from an 80's truck (yours is a '79 correct?)...anyway, the springpack should have 4 leaves plus an overload, and the spring rate (at least on the 80's models) should be somewhere in the 270 Lb-in range. That will work well with my soft front springs, or at least that's the THEORY I want to test.....

Maybe you SHOULD hold onto a set for yourself? You never know....

Hehehe.. The only problem is my springs were sagging so I put in an add-a-leaf. In total there is 6 leafs in the spring packs.

    4 regular+ 1 Overload+ 1 add-a-leaf= 6 leafs in total /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I am looking at buying an 82 that is still stock.
If I get it and that should be within 2 weeks you can have the springs.
