Does anyone know where i can puchase a few sheets of diamond plate to replace the side interior panels of my K5. Does anyone have any suggestions on this process ( dos and donts) or another material that worked for them?

Go to a local sheet metal fabrication type shop , a comercial or industrial one , they will be more likely to have some.
Personally I would use aluminum checker plate 1/8" (diamond plate) because it is light.
You can measure your rough cut sizes and have them shear it to size and then use a jig saw or sawzall to cut contours , notches etc.
Use a buffing disk or file to remove all sharp edges

BTW I am a sheet metal worker by trade :thumb:

    try here maybe?

I've seen it at Lowe's Home Centers ,but its very expensive for a small sheet about 2x4 feet--it was 75+ bucks!....I'd try a steel supply place or sheet metal shop as already suggested..but it might not be cheap anywhere, diamond plate steel and aluminum has always been rather costly, and harder to find than regular flat plate steel..

I've seen all kinds of stuff used as interior panels in K5's....T-111 plywood, wood paneling, acoustical ceiling tile, plastic panels used for lights in suspended ceilings, wavy courragated steel or fiberglass roofing panels, carpeting,Knotty Pine boards,Masonite panels--one guy even had Pegboard in his truck for side panels!...your limited only by your imagination !..

I did the same thing with my panels. After I got the diamond plate panels cut I sprayed the backside of them with bedliner to keep them from rattling and vibrating against the truck.

I've seen some good prices at Online Metals and I plan to get some diamondplate from them in the future. They will even cut it to size for you, nearly for free. They only have aluminum, I think.
