Fellow CK5'rs, sorry to beat a dead horse (tell the ASPCA that's figuratively speaking), but I have the door-sticking problem w/ top off, as well. I'm a couple 2-3 yrs away from a resto, so my Q is: is it feasible to clean up the rocker box area, weld in new ones, then later tear the rest apart? Or would I be doing too much backpaddling?
    Thx!

If you dont mind doin the little bit of extra work, I dont see where it would hurt anything. If you dont do it or shim it with some washers or something under the body grommets you will have 2 -3 years of headaches dealin with the doors.

I would try shimming it or putting in a cage. My rocker boxes are in perfect shape and I can't open my doors either when flexed.

I was bumbed to hear that Burt4x4 has the same prob. and he has a cage...Oh well?
