Figure the stock one won't be chrome. Amazing/sad that you can't find any that aren't chromed in the parts stores.

Yes, I could paint one, then I could watch as the chrome peels off from undeerneath.

I'm sure it wouldn't cost too much to have one made or have a crome one sand blasted. Or look at the dealership. Jegs also had a few different billit ones but didnt search long to see what else they had.

One time I made one out of flatstock.

The next time I took a grinder to a chrome one. WAY too much work to make one. Almost as much fun as making a EGR blockoff plate.

Well, not one BEHIND the fuel pump, it would actually replace the fuel pump...just a plate that covers the hole up when you use an electric pump. IIRC some stock carbed setups have a plate behind the fuel pump, that has a slot cut in it for the fuel pump rod, is this the piece you have?

I agree, too much work to fab this thing up when they are on some applications starting at least in 1985, meaning there has to be a bunch out there...

Hey I might have one this weekend, I am picking up a TBI long block for my K5 and if the block will accept my mechanical fuel pump, (i.e. has a block off and the whole drilled in the for the rod) you can have mine for the $5 and shipping. I will let you know ASAP, I am picking up the block on Sunday, so it will probably be Monday before I know for sure /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
