My 85 Burb originally came with a 700R4 (overdrive) and sometime in its life a TH400 replaced it. As far as I know the things that are different are the TV cable, speed gear, and the throttle position device. The OD trans has a throttle position sensor that controls the torque converter lockup, where the TH400 has a vacuum control valve that controls the amount of vacuum that the vacuum modulator sees. Both bolt in the same place on the passenger side of the injector pump. I am not sure if the t-case adapter is the same or not since mine was already converted. Also, mine came with LT235-85-R16 tires and after I went with LT285-75-R16's, the speedo is reading correct due to the taller tire. Hope this helps.
