I have a 89 Blazer and I was working on it and the truck was running. I sat a drop cord light down on top of my alternator and it sparked and the truck went dead and now I have power to nothing. All of the fuses seemed to be alright.

    What could it be?

    Thanks

Yeah, I shorted out across the alternator and everything went dead.

What do you mean by a fusible link, it that like a inline fuse?

    Thanks guys

A fusible link is a special section of wire that's intended to burn up in a dead short situation to prevent the whole elctrical system from melting down. You'll need to replace that part of the wire with another fusible link.
