Okay, I've got a strange one. The dailly driver is a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero GLS coupe. This thing has lights and bells for about everything. Normally when a bell dings, a light for whatever will come on, on the dash. Anywho, almost everytime I get of I-80 at the Hwy 50 exit a bell dings, but no light on the dash. Doesn't do it anywhere else, just at the Hwy 50 (144th st) exit in Omaha getting off west bound I-80. There is a large truck stop (Sapp Brothers) a couple gas stations, a few motels, and some fast food joints near that exit. Anyone have a idea ???

Many times. Had the car for a couple years, been too alot of truck stops. Lived by a large one in SD. This one here in Omaha is the only place it dings, and only near the end of that off ramp. Doesn't do it going by on hwy 50, or on the servive road near the exit.

It's the "Lot Lizard" warning chime:haha: :haha:

Seriously I had a 2000 grand am with all the bells and whistles and the same power train as yours. The entire wiring harness both under the dash and in the engine bay had to be replaced. The front fog lights fell out of the front bumper. Stereo took a dump. Lost the engine due to piston slap. All the brakes and rotors had to be replaced along with wheel bearings.
With 34,000 miles on it I new I would be focked once I reached the 36,000 mile mark on the warranty so I got rid of it, that was a good day.

My Jimmy will ring a chime when the turn signal is left on while driving for a certain amount of time....you sure it isn't that?

I there a dip in the road, if your getting pushed down in the seat going over a dip maybe your triggering the over weight alarm in seat bottom. :dunno:

My guess is it's your turn signal warning. Does it stop the chime when you turn off the signal?
We have it in the minivan (Pontiac), and the Blazer (Chevy).
It only happens in the blazer when I get off the LIE at a certain exit, cause the exit is so long and I'm lazy sometimes and don't turn the signal off since I have another exit to make right away.
Other than that one exit, I never hear it cause I don't leave the signal on long enough.

That could be it, it is a long off ramp. Never thought about that.
