Lowest safe air pressure for 16.5\'s?

Anybody got any experience dropping the air in their 16.5 tires really low without popping the bead? What would you say is the lowest you can go?

I run about 15 pounds on the trail in my 38.5x15x16.5's.and have yet to pop a bead, maybe ive been lucky but i believe i will be pushing for beadlocks this next spring so its one less thing i have to worry about.

Before I got the new tires on the K30, which still had the 16.5" Welds with bald BFG tires, one tire had a slow leak and got down to 10 lbs. before I went and aired back up. But this was all city driving, no off roading or what. [IMG]

what is your rim width?
I had 38.5/16/16.5 on the recommended 9.75s and they could run flat on the street, never lost a bead
ran 24psi for daily driving
found them with nails in them and no reading on the guage lots of times,
i think that tire size is a special case though, 16" wide on a 10" recommended rim? sounds bizarre

I have run 12psi in the sand but I was afraid to go any lower because of all the bad stories I hear. Those were only 33x12.5x16.5 on 16.5x9.75, though.

Oh man, 4:10's are sure better than 3.08's!

I regularly run 15-18 on the rocks in mine, never had one come off yet. Granted I drive with a steady foot and don't romp on it when the pressure is that low, but you should be ok with 15 psi or so...I don't go lower than that because it has worked for me, and I don't want to push it...am running 35x12.50x16.5s on 16.5x9.75 wheels...

10, but I'm running Hummer rims. Could go lower with the 44's but really don't see any point behind it.
