I put new springs on my 89. Front and rear. I applied some grease at installation time. My question is can I drill a hole in the spring at the bushing and put a zerk fitting in there to grease these from time to time. And should I drill through the bushing to the bolt. My thinking is to lubricate the pivot points.

i would not drill the spring!

look at ORD's site, they have greasable bushings.
