Doorbell just rang and it was the mailman. The comp cams roller lifters I ordered for my dad for Christmas just came. I was worried they wouldn't make it before Christmas. He also got a holley strip dominator (think edelbrock victor) manifold. He didn't do too bad this year did he?

Those solid-roller lifters or the "wimp-out" hydraulic-roller kind?

    Solid-roller, 714/724 lift, 280/290 duration at 0.050".

    It's his "Holy-****" stick! lol

Figured it must be going in a drag engine, those were my first thoughts when I saw the words "holley dominator" in the first thread.

wimp out? Most peoples engines have Hydraulic lifters, why not run Hydraulic Roller? RPM is the only issue.

Sounds like a great present for dad. Wish I could do something like that for mine.

I'd actually like to have solid lifters because then it'd give me that much more encouragement to keep the maintenance up on the motor, besides giving me an excuse to crank 'er up without the valve covers to watch the action whenever I wanted to. :D

He's done a lot for me and the whole family through the years. I'm just finally in a position to be able to pay him back a little bit.
