On a quiet nite I can hear this thing rusting! So far, I replaced both quarters, pass. door, tailpan, rear floor, rear pass. footwells(both sides) and a few plates in the front floor! Anyone else have this problem? Bwahahahaha! Or should I say, Everyone else have this problem? The only thing not rusting on my K5 are the fiberglass top and windshield, Thank God!

Anyway I love my K5 to death!! And wouldn't trade it for thew world.

    Any comments?

    Ron

PS Every time I lift the carpet, I get a new surprise! I know, I know........carpet=bad , no carpet=good. Just had to vent!

This happens to just about every K5/Jimmy that has ever been driven. We're all in it together. We love you man. It's gonna be OK.

dRIVERS SIDE FLOOR PAN,(stupid caps lock button)oh and the rockers and driver side rear wheel well but not bad and I fixed them all. Made my own new floor pan,my brother stuffed 13 beer cans in the rocker( he calls it non corrosive aluminum filler ) then I herculined the rockers, and the wheel well has a Volkswagon fender stuffed into it( another of my bro's ideas)but hey I'm German so its OK. I'm in good shape considering I live in Wa. state were you at with all that damage[IMG]

<font color=blue> I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy!

GM installed the rust at the factory. till late 80's when they started galvanizing so that the paint would not stick there was NO rustprevention. An inside cavity (rockers, area where tail pan and floor meet, any of the boxed suport areas under the bed. A and B piller, inside of windsheild frame) is BARE metal. My 75 had to have the tail pan replaced. the Bed was OK but both front floors sections I had to cut all the way to the tranny tunnel and replace.

I don't need no damn shop manual, I got a pornographic memory.

street signs can solve any problem. they are cheap, available, easy to work with, lightweight and rust free. the passenger floor in my K15 is a men at work sign. iit gets addicting, my new hand throttle linkage is made of a speed limit sign...i love this stuff....
