What's the maximum lift you'd safely run on the road with out completely throwing out the driveshaft angles??? Is it now wise to run a 12 inch lift w/o getting special driveshafts... etc...

Um... yes officer I know it's too big...

I don't think that you can run a 12-inch lift without some major driveshaft modifications. I doubt if the stockers can even reach the axles after that much lift. When you get up that high you're usually also looking at axle mods so that the pinions are pointed straight at the driveshafts. On the rear you can just more the spring perches to do this. But up front it involves puling the tubes out of the axle housing and rotating them so that the pinion is pointed in the proper direction while the steering knuckles remain aligned properly.
