    Good answer to a dumb question from Ms. Perky at CBS.

    Katie Couric, while interviewing a Marine sniper,asked, "What do you feel when you shoot a terrorist?"

    The Marine shrugged and replied:
    "Recoil." :whistle::waytogo:

    A question people like to ask me is if I learned any arabic over here,
    "no"
    How is that possible you spent a year in Iraq,
    "I found pointing an M-16 at their face pretty much got the point across"

    I love the horrified looks I get

    The international language is the working end of a firearm aimed at you. I found that out in Somalia '93. Semper Fi.

    pointing big guns definitely gets the baddies attention, no question there.

    man, every time someone says "Somalia" I wish I could go back in time, slap the chit out of the Sec Def and get the tank/AC-130 support the Black Hawk Down mission wanted...

    while I'm in the Delorean, I'll go back to 1983, slap reagan and tell him to unleash the Marines on Lebanon... before those Hezbollah aholes blows up the barracks killing 230+ brothers.

    I was fortunate enough to be in Somalia from December 23, 1992, through January 20th, 1993. We were in Amtraks, and supported by Cobras at all times. We did pull a couple of squad/ platoon recon patrols that were hairy, but the rules of engagement were something to the effect of "shoot first". We got out of there before the UN had there grubby paws in there screwing it up.

    glad you, and my other brother Marines, made it outta there OK. Man, if they had had good AC-130 support in the BHD mission... there would have been a LOT of dead "skinnies" and not nearly as many dead Americans. Grrrrr. Love or hate W... one has to admit that he tends to give the grunts the support they need.
