    im really liking this
only downfall is its 2wd...wish it was awd...but studs will do

with the options i want its looking around 16k.

I can fit in my moms mountianeer and this is roomier than that so im hoping i have enough leg room...

getting a standard...the engine is weak, but exhaust, intake, and a couple things i might me able to milk some cheap power

the selling point of this is fuel economy....34mpg highway.

what i pay in gas for the k5 in a month will buy this car with money to spare

    comments?!

Just hope they have a heavy duty model. You're sort of bigger than the car itself /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Is this an independant company or a division of a bigger company?

    I always wondered

Looks straight out of japan, but hey if it works great, and 30 or so mpg sounds great

Its a division of Toyota, they have been selling these in Japan for a few years. Got heavily slammed by car&driver and most auto reviews. Basically the only thing going for them was the "look". One reviewer even stated that "don't even THINK about the freeway with this vehicle"

Guess it sounds like it's about to blow at anything over 55 and only has 108 horsepower and like 103 ft. lbs of torque. Brother-in-law is buying one against my advice. I hear next year they hope to get 0-60 times down under the half hour mark /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Bingo. That's right about where they are.

Car and Driver said these cars (the XA and XB) suck as far as performance goes. You're buying the styling, not the performance.

Anybody know off hand how much torque it takes to tighten the u-bolts on our trucks? Oh...wait...I remember...one and a half times the amount those engines put out.

Tecton, that car is gonna be a POS dog with you driving it, no offense.

And yes, Scion is a division of Toyota.

I am getting one of those myself and I can honestly say that at 6'4" tall and 270lbs I fit comfortably in the back seats with the front seats all the way back...

The front is nice and "roomy" for a small car ... I fit in it nicely and it feels like it would be a good/nice car for a daily commuter.

and with 31mpg in town and 35mpg on the freeway its tough to beat for 14K - 17K

Maaaan... couldn't you just buy a HONDA???? Scions look rather... sick...

And speaking of bad reviews... I couldn't help but laugh when I saw Car and Driver TV review the BMW X3 (X5? the small one) "It looks nice" is about the only positive comment. Otherwise they strongly suggested no one buys it if they want a BMW, or a good all around SUV, or a car that's worth all the money it costs /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

There's a few of them out here, mostly yuppee rich kids, the ones that own Coopers and Bugs. They fill the back with speakers and sound like fools driving around town.

Get a Dodge Cummins extended cab, short bed. You'd have good mileage, lots of room and its a real vehicle, not a shoe box with a lawn mower engine. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
