    I understand the concept of crossover steering but what about a hi steer setup?? I know it gets the tie rod up out of the way but does it actually help steering like crossover? I think it does but I need a definite answer.

    NO .

    there is your definite answer . all it does is get the tierod ABOVE the leafs so that you smash your axle tube into the rocks instead of the tierod.

    Most of the time when you do a hi steer setup you also do a crossover so in that case yes because it is a crossover setup also.
