    mechanical and vacuum advance ?\'s

can anyone tell me what a good amout of vacuum advance to run is? i have an adjustable unit and would like to optimize it but i need something to start with. also, when working with different advance springs, should i stick with the medium ones or use heavier/lighter?

It is hard to say. Start with the med springs and the vacume advance in about the middle of its adjustment. You want the advanve to come in as fast as possible without ping. The vacume advance is for under load so set this and test up a steep hill.
