    Hi All

This morning, VP Dick Cheney came to Parma OH, ( A suburb of Cleveland ) to speak at a church here on the first stop of his campaign '04 bus tour.

I only found out he was coming because our tiny local sun newspaper had a small article, 2 days ago, which mostly detailed the meeting places for the anti - bush / cheney protestors.

There was NO advance notice of his vist in the bigger local paper, TV news, or radio, whatsoever. The local paper this morning did have a big article, again describing where the protestors could meet, and painting the current administration in a bad light.

I guess that's the price I pay for living in a town dominated by leftist democrat politics.

So I marched my butt down to the church with my homemade sign that said : Kerry? "Not Fonda John" Bush Cheney '04!, along with "support our troops - pray for victory".

Judging by the passing traffic, for every raised fist and thumbs up I got, I got an equal number of middle fingers and other rude gestures. The anti - bush crowd was several hundred strong and very loud. I met maybe 2 other conservatives, and saw just a handful more.

When the motorcade rolled up, they went nuts screaming all kinds of leftist crap, I just started chanting " 4 more years", " the UN is not our God", " God bless Bush", and " go home you damn leftists", which got me a lot of dirty looks. The police pressure kept anyone from doing anything physical though.

I guess I'm ticked because if the media would do it's job, more people would have known about the visit and maybe more conservatives would have turned out. I also don't like the fact that the media acted as an organizer of the left, AND our mayor and safety director spent taxpayer dollars to make calls the night before to get people to come and protest the visit. WTF? is THIS what I pay my taxes for, to support people who would deliver my country to the UN and the leftists? I don't think so.

I had one guy who was driving by yell that I should read a newspaper once in awhile. If he'd have stopped I would have told him that maybe that's his problem, that ALL he did was read the papers, otherwise he'd know how goos the troops were actually doing, the WMD's we've actually found, and maybe he and others would open their eyes and see that radical islam and the terrorists are the real enemy, not Bush.

Thanks for the words of support. I heard on the radio the other day that the american communist party isn't fielding a presidential candidate of their own, because Mr. Kerry will have their endorsement.

When I hear crap like this, I just want to hit the roof. Is this what our founding fathers had in mind? Did our brave soldiers lay down their lives so the commies could take over without firing a shot?

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but it kills me that a communist organization like the ACLU has more weight than either the bible or the constitution. It kills me that we even tolerate a presidential candidate who says his first offical act will be to apologize to foreign nations, and thus subjugate us to the UN.

Thanks to the libs and their entitlement mentality, I guess national security and soverignity aren't as important as making sure I vote for the guy who will pour money into my labor union after we elect him. that will keep america strong, won't it?

    Happy 4th of July.

Wow, that's disturbing about the paper. Great that you made it out and had the grit to stand firm and be known.

Man, hearing this just makes me want to get into politics even more. I'd love to get into media with a raw-facts reporting ethic, but everything has become so left and right, as you show, you gotta wonder if you'd even have an audience if you don't have a lean.

I tried it, I'm the precint chairman, for my precinct. also I'm the county and state delagate for my precinct, (all republican mind you) I went to the caucases and before I voted, I started asking some very indepth ???? and for the most part what I found was that most if not all canidates for any given office, don't know shiite, about anything about whats going on around them, most of these self centered idiots, were there to fight for their own little causes, and didn't know (darn) about the real issues, then to top it all off, I found myself talking to the mayoral caanidate, who when asked about the twenty thousand $$$$ she spent redecorating her office, at tax payers expense!, she immediately gave a nod to a cuple of her suited henchmen, and I found myself being held by the arms and waist and being escorted to the door, the hard way, I managed to wrestle free and spun to face them with one hand behind me on my pistol, telling them that the next guy who moves towards me, goes home in a bag!! next thing you know the MAN, walks up saying is there a problem here?? I said nope no problem, officer. the goons quietly just backed off, and dissappered. the cop let it go at that. so now I really know how screwwed up this whole political thing is, I'm refusing to participate in anything so corrupt, and as for our mayoral canidate, Miss Workman, she is now under criminal investigation for fraud waste and abuse of taxpayer money, and attempting to bribe city officials and threatening witnesses, well, well, well. isnt that funny!! She and her goon squad should stay on her side of town cause next time I aint gonna be so forgiving... /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

I wish some of you Republicans knew who you where voting for. I am a Republican too, but I think most of you do not know a damn thing about who George Bush and Dick Cheney are.

"In 1990, Neil Bush paid a $50,000 fine and was banned from the banking industries for his role in taking down Silverado Savings and Loan, which actually cost taxpayers $1.3 billion. A Resolution Trust Corporation Suit against George Bush Jr and other officers of Silverado was settled in 1991 for $26.5 million."

    http://www.rationalrevolution.net/bush_family_and_the_s.htm

"Halliburton is a Dallas-based energy company. Mr. Cheney was the CEO from 1995 until 2000. The lawsuit alleges that the company, under Cheney's leadership, used faulty accounting practices that overstated its revenues by about $445 million in the period from 1999 through the end of 2001. Again, this suit filed in Miami by a group called Judicial Watch. The head of that organization, Larry Klayman, says this suit is only putting to the test just what the president outlined on Wall Street yesterday, that if you cook the books, you should be held accountable."

    http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0207/10/lol.06.html

Bush and Cheney do not give a rat's ass about you know nothing, staunch loyal Republicans. I think you should start looking for some Republicans to vote for that do. Bob Dole is probably one of the most honorable Republicans there is, but you National Enquirer, Rush Limbaugh, Bozo the Clown type Republicans chose Bush over Dole. You morons!

*DISCLAIMER* - I am neither republican or democrat, please do not label me as either. I tend to support the basic principles of the republican party.

I have always said that Bush is corrupt. He doesn't care about anyone. He doesn't even personally care about you Bubba, you are just another taxpayer to him. The only reason that I can think of that anyone would like bush is because he is killing arabs. If that is the only reason then they are a very pathetic individual. Is kerry worse? No, he is just as crazy just with a different agenda. Before the war I supported bush. I supported the reasons that he gave for going to war. At that time he said that he was going to get binladen and afghanistan. I heard no mention of saddam or iraq. Where is binladen? Bush lied to me and I don't like liars. I guess the bush supporters enjoy being lied to.

I am not sure why when people are faced with facts they choose to ignore it, and say it is a lie. The fact that the Bush boys looted the S&L banking system in the 80's is a matter of public record. If you do not think that Cheney cooked the books at Halliburton, then go to the SEC and find the records for yourself, on how they had to restate the earnings during the period 1999 to 2001. IT IS ALL PUBLIC RECORD.

The Clintons looted an S&L in Arkansas in the 80's as well, and when I tell Republicans this they believe it, yet when they are told that the Bush's did it too, they absolutely, flat out refuse to believe it.

I am telling you that the Bush boys and Cheney have purposely set out to cheat people out of their money. So have the Clintons. If you want to know anything about politicians, then just go to Google, and type in the politicians name then the word "dirt" or "skeleton", and it will all come up. Try doing a search on Bob Dole, Donald Rumsfeld, or Colon Powell, and you will not find much because these men are respectable, and have never set out to purposely cheat people out of their money.

    Hi All!

Well, Mr Kerry & his numbnutz sidekick John Edwards came to town today. Unlike with Mr. Cheney's visit, the local media has bombarded us with every detail concerning the visit. As I suspected, the media didn't stake out any place for the anti - kerry folks to congregate. Imagine that. Too bad I had to be at the shop today, or I would have parked nearby, stood on my K5 and made my views known.

WRT to not knowing who I'm voting for, I'm well aware of Neil Bush, the clintons, and the S & L thing. did you know that John McCain, and John Glenn also were involved? I'm not too concerned about it because for one thing, Neil isn't president, and it's the banks fault for making bad investments. Banks loan out your money as soon as it's deposited, and taxpayers are on the hook for all failed banks, that fail for any reason, thanks to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, which is a safety net comprised of your tax dollars.

As far as halliburton's accounting is concerned, remember that accounting is an inexact science. While we citizens do all we can to understate our income in order to minimize taxes, CEO's have to overstate how good they're doing so the stock price doesn't tank, which happens when the stated revenue doesn't meet wall street's expectations. If the stock price falls, the board gets mad, and people start getting laid off. as long as you remember that wall street reaction dictates how a ceo acts, you can make a decision as to whether he acts morally or not.

As an aside, remember during the clinton years when we had a budget "surplus"? we only had that because the gov't didn't include the costs of social security in the budget. The called it "taking Socail Security offline". Sort of like when a guy refinances his house, rolls his credit card debt into his mortgage, then goes around saying he's not as in debt as he used to be.. anyway, can a government that keeps it's books like that be an effective watchdog on corporations, and have any real credibility? I think not.

Anyway, I know who I'm voting for. Bush / Cheney aren't saints, but at least they put america first in their foreign policy, and lower the tax rates. anything else they do or did years ago doesn't matter. there's a war on.

Well Tom, you present an excellent argument.

McCain's involvement was only that he was receiving campaign donations from people who where looting the S&Ls, and then trying his best to save their hides, when caught, with whatever influence he had, which did not help. Thus this does not mean McCain had direct involvement, as the Bush boys did, in making sure money was funneled out of the S&Ls to be misspent on yachts and mansions by their buddies.

There are many aspects of "Earning Statings" that are considered a fuzzy Grey area, but there are some aspects, which are clearly spelt out in black and white. Halliburton misrepresented earnings that are clearly spelt out, and any CEO that did not know the difference was either lying, or has no business being a CEO in the first place.

The so-called "balanced budget" the Democrats claim credit for was a huge deception worthy of Barnum & Bailey. Not only was Social Security not taken into account, but the figures where based on the fact that tax revenue streams would remain at the same constant rates of the boom time late 90's indefinitely; without a recession or any other disaster such as 9/11.

I do not blame anybody for wanting to vote for Bush, after looking at the other options available.

It's like I've always said "voting is making the choice between the lesser of two evils" Just choose the one that you beleive can do the most good. sometimes that's very hard to do, with everyone being on the take. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif
