METALLICA!!!
Well, i figured you're probally into metallica if you're reading this post...
Chances are if you don't like metallica then you probally didn't even click on this thread.

Check out this Pic of when I got to meet James Hetfield the lead singer/ rhythm guitar for Metallica. I happened to see him up at sears point raceway at one of the goodguy's drag's and show & shine not even a year ago. He had a Black '57 Bel Air entered in the show and shine... and apparently he was not in the greatest mood because his car did not win a trophy or anything. I Instantly recognized him since Metallica has been my favorite band for about 11 years. So i went up to him and asked him if he'd mind getting in a picture with me and he said "sure"

So who's got the scoop? After Jason left the band as the bassist, i heard they started looking for someone else to play bass... I also heard that they were going to continue and say screw it, they don't need a bassist...
James, Kirk and Lars could do it just the 3 of them?
Anyone heard what's up with one of the greatest bands of all time?

Lars is a pu$$y ................Jason was smart to leave the band ............ They all got together last week in a big meeting to discuss what had happened .............. Jason just left kind of abruptly and thay wanted to know why it happened that way ............. I'll do some more digging for you. I'm not a big fan of the band, but I still follow the info.

Obvioously Jason saw the fall of Metalica years ago, good move on his part, there sound is getting a little old and methodical. Maybe Jason will start a band with some young energenic musicians that aren`t so burnt out!!! I gave up on Metalica around the early 90`s, they are just to slow! Try Pantera, Korn or Dog Fashoin Disco, Mushroomhead kicks !!ss.

That picture is cool! I love Metallica, saw them with Korn,Powerman 5000 and Kid Rock 2 years ago. They put on the best show. Last I heard they were still looking for a replacement.

Check out this website it has lots of news about Metallica http://www.encycmet.com/

One of the main reasons Jason left the band because James was too controlling and would not let Jason persue other music outside of Metallica. Jason has a new band now and it is called echobrain and their debut album is coming out on March 5th I believe.

Check out that website and look through the news archives and you will find out lots about Metallica.

You quit Metallica because you get sick of the BS from LArs and James being control freaks and treating you as a piece of crap instead of the talented musician that you are ! James has had side projects all throughout the history of Metallica but he has the nuts to tell Jason that he can't ! Screw James ! He's just afraid that he'll ENJOY his side project better and leave .............. well, he's right on that one ! Metallica needs to come down from their high horse and quit all this Best Band In The World ego trip and play some good music again ! Megadeth is no better ......... Dave is trying to tour with popular bands right now in hopes that those band's fan will help out his dying carreer ! Don't kill me here, I'm a true metal head from day one and I'm sick to see the way some of these pricks have taken their music !!

You know what riles me up, and before y'all start thinking "Yeah right, that Bubba Ray character listens to metal. His idea of heavy metal is Hee Haw in fast forward!" is that these old guys like Metallica, Van Halen and some others have tried to change or "reinvent" their music. I loved the old stuff, just listening to the riffs on "And Justice For All" is enough to get motivated. Look at Guns and Roses; those guys kicked major arse back in the day but that goof Axl ruinated it all for us. AC/DC though, seems like they've stuck with what got them where they are with the new stuff and they still rock, but Halen and Metallica, I'll stay with their older albums.

That's sweet, I'd love to meet James. I heard he was into old cars. I wish they would get back to there roots and make some more good hard music.

ive been a metallica fan for years, seen them several times, WORN OUT several tapes and cds of theirs.. but i havent bought anything of theirs since the black album.. maybe I bought load or reload im not sure.. Im not really into their newer stuff, although some of it is cool.. However I dont go on about how much they suck and should start playing real music again.. I think metallica has BEEN THERE, DONE THAT. Theyve been at the top, everything they put out goes platinum, they can and do sell out any venue they play in and theyve been doing this stuff since the 80's.. thats a long F-ing time.. people change, I can relate I guess, and I dont hold it against em. They have earned their place in music history and they are all rich bastards. can you really blame them for doing whatever the F they want?

this is definately not intended as a flame, just the way I see it.. i re-read it and it sounds sort of rude, but its not meant that way :)

I will say this, I lost a LOT of respect for the band when the whole napster thing went down. especially for Lars, that little ******. It was a classic case of ignorance in action. Lars had no idea what it was really all about. rich s.o.b. complaining about people copying his mp3's.. I assure you with the closing of napster, there has been NO LESS trading/pirating of metallica music...

wow I better stop before I really get pissed off.. later :)

-mike

16. geeeeez, guess i haven't been fallowing the band that closely as of late. they are a supergroup though. right up there with aerosmith and the like. bands don't last very long these days so i guess i'm just being selfish wanting them to stay together.

And Justice For All still my fav. with Puppets a close second

LOL!

Just wanted to hear everyone's take on Metallica!
I play the drums and guitar so I love listening to music for good talent!

I love PANTERA too! Metallica was my all time favorite band.
A lot of people think that Metallica has "sold out" after the black album but I really don't care.
I give them respect for having the balls to go out and try something different. If Metallica didn't evolve and come up with new music they'd be just like AC/DC with all their songs sounding damn near exactly alike! [IMG] Their new songs and old songs... can't tell em apart.

I agree that after the black album metallica's music was never as hard or pounding again, but i still dig em.
I think there were quite a few good songs after the black album... Until it sleeps, Hero of the day, The outlaw torn, Fuel, Turn the page...etc.

Pretty damn funny to hear everyone's take on metallica because a lot of people have different views on them after the black album and napster etc. [IMG]

cool, metallifans.
i had a cassette tape back in the day that i wore out in my mom's cutlass. it had two songs on each side, and one of them i've never heard anywhere else. it had an odd name for a fast metal song (cinderella?), and i've been curious as to what the hell it was.
anyone?
as a side note, i got hooked with ride the lightning, grabbed kill 'em all, and stayed with them until the black days. that's about where my wife picked up on them; sandman and that crap. she actually didn't think they were that big until that album. then we caught that same tour that noangel saw, with kid rock, et al; and it blew her away. all they played was their old-school speed. freakin pits were awsome!
