I am trying to decide on tires, i am looking at the Mickey Thomson baja claw radials, or the Super Swamper SSR's 35X12.50X15. There is about a 200 dollar differance claws are cheaper. Any reasons not to get one or the other?

I would go with the swampers i have heard that the claws you need to air down alot before they start to grab on the rocks. I know a guy who runs the claw radials and tore the sidwall pretty easy but other than that he likes them.

If you are into mud you might want to check out the current issue of Peterson's 4 Wheel and Offroad. They tested 9 different sets of tires in the mud. I beleive the Swamper SSRs got second place, while the claws received seventh.

I don't have any mags. Who got first? Boggers? Why don't you list them all?

I just put some Super Swampers SSR 35"x12.50"x16" on my rig and I love them. They wear great on highway and so far been great off-road. Check them out from my post of my blazer (Gassman)

Had the same delimma last month but finally went with SSR's. Tyre's International priced matched 4WPWholestealers magazine ad that they wouldn't even honor on 35x14.5x15's so it ended up a wash on the $'s. Been on for about 3 weeks now and I love 'em....

The Mickey T's 35" claw only measures a hair over 33" too. Might keep that in mind. Just ask glenn on pirate4x4.com

    Thanks! [IMG]

I can't believe the SSR are above the TSL Radials. I thought the tighter thread pattern wouldn't help in the mud. With this post and Steve's review, I think I know what my next tires are.

    Thanks again.
