mid 70s cast iron sbc a/c brackets

    the funky cast iron a/c brackets seen on mid 70s sbc400 vans, they go together to make a shelf right above valve cover that the compressor sits directly on and also uses one of the thermostat housing bolts too,
    are they anything that is good for anything ? mounts close to engine and straight above valve cover, gotta know whether the setup is worth keeping or not when i strip engine down to get it ready for install in the trans am
