I have heard a similar story before but never had problems with mine.
Seriously grab a brand new milemarker and some brand new warn hubs while you are at the auto parts store. Look at the internals Almost identical! Designed by the same people! Premiums in my opinion are just a shiny cover on top of the same internals. Buy what you want but just check it out anyway its interesting.

Nope! Hubs preety much come as hubs or hubs....I have seen rebuild kits that come with new screws and two o-rings but thats about it.

If I were you, I'd get the Warn Premiums and install their hub fuses.

Warn Premiums also have a lifetime warranty, so if they do break, take them back and get a new set. Pretty good deal IMO. Premiums are all metal too.

If the Warns have a lifetime warrenty, then why spend the money replacing the hub fuses when you can just have Warn replace the hub free of charge?

The super wench hubs are not a bad design for the price.

Hub fuses are a double edge sword. WIth the wheels turned the fuse may not blow before the U-Joint fails. On the other end is the locker. There have been MANY reported cases where when the fuse blew the slam that the locker takes as a result will bust the locker.

Chances are the situation where the hubs failed was simply the point they let go after being damaged by a previous incident, or multiple previous incidents. It' s just like the people who say their 10-bolts blew up just by simply backing out of the driveway, in reality they were pushed to the limits and the previous fourwheeling trip or by the burnouts from the previous weekend. The parts were just barely hanging on and a little bit more stress and fatigue was all it took to finish them off.

I agree. I personally prefer MMs to Warns, but not by a huge margin. I wouldn't go out of my way for or against one or the other. However, all other things (price and availability) being equal, I would choose MM...

This does make sence----but these hubs were 2 months old and been on one decent trail, and about 4 other times where i even put it in 4.

I dont know about the Super Winch hubs because I had a set up until last week, when I somehow managed to strip it out. Also if you look inside the SW ones one of the bigger parts is plastic! That part had cracked on mine which allowed there to be some play in the hub which then stripped out the big ring piece. I think it's really funky to make a part of a 4WD hub plastic. I got a set of Warn Premiums and have not had a problem yet, plus it's real nice seeing everything in there metal /forums/images/icons/smile.gif 80K20

It says right on the hub fuses package, that hub fuses are not ment for locked axles. So if someone put hub fuses on a locked axle, they are either stupid, or willing to take the chance the locker won't blow. It is there own fault the locker went.

HEY DAN RUN THE WARN I HAVE HAD A LOT LESS PROBLEMS WITH THEM. CARRY THAT METAL FULL TIME HUB WITH YA ( I FORGET THE NANE OF THE PART) YOU KNOW THAT COMES ON THE FULL TIME FOUR WHEEL DRIVE ONE TON TRUCKS. SO WHEN YOU BREAK A HUB YOU CAN PUT THAT PART IN AND FINISH THE RUN.

the working parts of the premium warns are the same hub as the standard warn IIRC.
can you shoot and post a pic of the damage?
would be nice if someone would step up with an actual premium hub rather then a shiny coating on pot metal.
need a cnc guru to whip out some super hubs, of course the hardcore just run drive flanges
