Hey, I know this should be in the non forum, but everyone seems to read this more often.
So, is anyone else in the military besides jarhead?
    Stationed?
I was in Korea when I found this forum and it made me miss my K5 even more. I was unable to drive my Blazer, in fact I was unable to drive any vehicle period!
I am now stationed in TN and want to drive my Blazer and wheel every day and night.
This must be the most helpful and friendly forum around. I thank you guys for giving me something to do and read in Korea for a year away from family, friends, and Blazer. Keep it up!!
    Thanks, Rich

I spent 4 years active duty in Heilbronn,Germany as a Military Policeman from 1988 to 1992. And I have been in the Army Reserves since I came off active duty. Started my reserve duty in New York, now live in Texas with my Unit stationed at Fort Hood.
And if it weren't for the Military, I never would have found interest in Blazers.
Glad I got out of the Active Duty before Clinton took over !!!

It's better to have it than to need it, than to need it and not have it !!!!

Lance Corporal in the USMC stationed at MCAS Miramar in San Diego, CA. I'm a 7011 Aircraft Recovery Specialist. I "catch" aircraft that don't work right.[IMG][IMG]
1 more year until I get out, just don't want to do this for any more of my life. I'm glad I joined, and for all the things I've learned, got to do, etc, just think I can do more and bigger things on my own.

Hey Thumper, we just had a few of your T-33 Shooting Stars with the electronics pods down here for a week or so. Was damn cool to see an aircraft that was killing communists in 1950 flying around in fresh Canadian markings.[IMG] Even if it wasn't in a combat role.

Thumper, I don't recall any of your CF-18's being around. Are you sure they went to MCAS Miramar? We had a few of your T-33's and some of those Canadair bizjets you guys use here. Although we are waist deep in USMC and USN F-18's, so I may have missed them.

Eagle, those CH-46's are still whirling around making noises. They like to fall out of the sky every now and then, but it's usually just fix a hose and they can take right off again. I flew in one up in 29 Palms a while ago, and the kid next to me had eyes about 3" wide. He kept eyeing that steady leak from the top of the cabin. About 20 minutes into the flight he grabs the crew chief as he walks by. He points and says, "IT'S LEAKING!" Crew chief says to him.........."tell me when it stops leaking, that means all the fluid is gone."[IMG][IMG] I couldn't stop myself from laughing.[IMG]

In the 53's, we have a saying:

"IF IT AIN'T LEAKIN', IT AINT FLYIN'!!"

Wow, I guess I'm kinda famous. Or is that infamous...
Thumper, you turned down a backseat ride in a Hornet? I'd give, ummm, a lot to go for a ride!

AJMBLAZER, here's something to make you jealous: I've got 86 days left on active duty.

At last count...got about 3300 hours PIC in 46's....about 1700 was combat time. You could put a bunch of holes in one...have hoses leaking everywhere, and take a 20mm shell through a stub wing and still make it home. Great helicopter. Rode in a 53 for a bit...to much like a caddy...rather bounce around a bit in a "frog"....

WOW! Do you fly civil now Eagle? I fly Blackhawks for the Army. When I was infantry prior to flying we used to ride in the 46s and 53s, along with all the army aircraft too. You guys are not kidding about the leaking thing.
So you are getting out Jarhead? I planned on getting out about 7 years ago. As you can probably tell my plans changed.
