Just feeling a little low lately. For some reason I'm letting the little things add up and get to me. Do you ever feel like you're kinda going nowhere, even though your life in general is going better than planned? That's a wierd feeling for me, because up until lately, I've been the cheeriest focker I know. My family is healthy, my marriage is rock solid, my job is secure and pays well, summer is around the corner, and I have everything I need and more. I just feel very unsettled lately, almost like I need a change for the sake of change. It just doesn't make any sense to me, and not being able to pin this down is starting to piss me off, and almost depress me, which is absolutely ridiculous because I have nothing to be depressed about.......

Sheesh, maybe I'm going through some sort of mid-life crisis. Or maybe I just need some medication......:doah:

You know what I like to do when I start feeling this way?

Set aside a whole day, and if you can't, part of the day. Then go out and enjoy yourself, either with or without your family. Personally, I like squirrel hunting. Bring out the .22, walk a few miles through the woods, fire a couple rounds at some crabapples. Going to local parks is good; pack a lunch/dinner, sit, eat, and enjoy. Sometimes you just need to take a step backwards and look at everything you have.

I know exactly the feeling. I go thru it now and then. The more I think about "what can I do", the more I think it must be a mid-life crisis and when I reach 40, my plan is to buy a Harley.

Kinda like a sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach.
Nothing you do gets rids of it.
    Sorta sad/depressed for no reason.

What you are feeling is normal. It will pass. When I get that way, I just retreat from everyone for a little while. That way I don't say something stupid to a loved one, while I am in a funk.

Look on the briight side-noone is trying to kill you, or harm your family. Just remember, negative thoughts are contagious.

Yeah, it's a downward spiral, Mike. What's so odd is that I'm fully aware of how ridiculous it is to be feeling "down and out", but I can't do anything to shake it. I almost feel like it's out of my control, which is very worrisome to me, and has never happened before......:dunno:

I think I might go visit the doc to make sure there's nothing physically wrong with me.

Have you been excercising? Sometimes when you do for a while and suddenly stop it can create a chemical imbalance causing such mood alterations, so to speak...

    Sounds like a mid-lifer to me:p:

What you need to do is call someone who has it way worse than you.

So, when should I expect your call? :wink1:

man, can I relate! I get this feeling almost every few months. I have found a cruise on the bike helps a lot. Nothing like riding at 80 mph, wind in your face, and hearing nothing but the deep sound of those pipes. Makes me feel 10 times better. Another thing that seems to be helping is taking those classes. I feel so much better about myself since I'm not sitting around dwelling on how crappy a life I've had....the first 18 years of it anyway.

Call me anytime....you know my numbers.

Don't get me started now. I don't want to lose focus on life at hand right now and start thinking about HD's just yet. Much like my head is on the K-series trucks of GM's, lets keep it there for now. :doah:

Paul, you have my number. Any family history or is it more likely to be a mid-lifer? Depression has a lot to do with genetics. Ask me how I know.

Could it be because your close friends have all been going through the same thing and it's rubbing off like a bad wax job. :D
