yeah same here, i really cant afford a detroit, so i want to toss in a mini spool, one tire fire on the snow and ice SUX, and i have always driven in snow with a locker, lsd, or spool. depending on what i am driving at the time.

The mini spool for a 14bff will cost about the same as a DL for a 14bff. If you aford a DL then just weld the spiders.

Axles prob won't hold up to spool or weld with SF.Aren't much stronger than 12B and think they're C-clips?? /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

yes they are infact c-clip axels, and i know there not much stronger than a 12 bolt. when i become rich (or get a job), i am going to go out and buy a cucv p/u and take the axels off of that. i am looking for cheap and dont wheel it hard at all. a mini spool will work fine for my application. i just need to find one, and i really dont want to weld it.

The writeup bout welding spiders should work on bout any diff.Found one that shows spiders welded together, not one i hunted. Was looking for this one if any one remembers it.Said weld 1 skip 1 weld 1 skip 2 weld 1 skip 1 weld 1 skip 2.Was refering to filling space in spider teeth. Was for 14 FF so tooth count could make diff in other size rears.Hope it helps. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gifer /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
