misfireing or something..what would you call this?

    when i turn my truck of ...sometimes it will just turn of..and other times it will like stumble and keep running for a second after i turn the key of and shake..im not sure what it is ive heard of it befor..what causes that?

    oh yea..and the idle is set a little high if that makes a difference..so its running at a little higher rpm when i shut it of..

    Its called dieseling. My truck gets it sometime back in AZ where I am from when it is hot. My motor will get pretty warm from the outside heat being 100*+ and the motor being hot from stop and go driving. You turn the key off, and it rumbles for a few seconds.

    well its in the teens here so it cant be getting hot..i dunno...sometime it does it and sometimes it will just shut of and thats that. im not ganna worry bout it really....its just a little anoying..

    turn the idle down your getting to much fuel at idle
