Old Mojave Road Trail, Oct. 13-15. I've done it once and a fellow wheeler has gone twice.
It involves leaving Laughlin Fri. 8-9 AM; surface at Afton Canyon Sunday after lunch. Fully self contained food, gas & water etc. for ~150 miles. Mild offroad, lots of 4Hi. Campfire Fri. and Sat. night.
    UPDATE
The party has grown, except not with CK5 brothers??
    Otherwise, its a GO.

I have Casebier's book & have looked at going several times. My dad wants to go, but he can't leave my stepmom alone that long. Don't think I should until that's resolved.

On a related note, I've been wanting to do a Big Bear to Ballarat all off road run over several days. Starting to look like part of the route may be Afton Cyn.

Looks like Afton canyon may be too far East. Do you know of some established route for that run? You'd have to run West of Fort Irwin and sneak up between Irwin and China Lake. But yeah, several days as its ~180 miles. I guess it would depend on whether there is a trail. Are you looking at it as linking a bunch of existing trails?
Can you tell I'm definitely interested?:haha:

I know. I just hoped you knew where it was anyway. Oh well....

Having been thru Afton each direction, several times, I'm pretty sure it's no where near there. My guess, which really isn't all that difficult to make, is that it somewhere east of Soda Dry Lake, which is the lake due south of Baker.

It was up around where the North end of the Dunes backs up to the hills, I think.

Well, I was waiting for response, but like Jishory said, its BDS weekend. But, A co-worker surprised me with "So you're the OR dude?!" He said him and buddies were going to "Mojave Road?" Oct. 13-15, yada yada. So its looking like on the order of six vehicles, ~10 Guys.
    Time to get to work.:D
