    More 3/4T-1T axle q\'s

What brand, year, model truck/van would most likely have 4.10-4.56 geared axles that work under the K5? Went looking around archives and just lost attention span. Is it wise to stay away from 2wd rears?

My 85 K3500 had a D60 in the front and 14bolt in the rear with 4.10 factory. There is no difference i know of in HD 14 bolts from 2wd to 4wd as long as your ratios are the same you are all good. Remember to stay away from dually axles unless you are looking for that look in a K5 Luke

Thanks man, I am kinda not understanding the dually part. Is the dually axle spaced differently? I am really struggling with this swap thing here.

I'm pretty sure 2WD and 4WD came with 4.10s my friend with an '86 C20 has 4.10s with a 14SF and they are factory. The yare lower from the factory for towing I guess.

Most of the older 3/4 ton 2 WD trucks came with the FF 14 bolt.

You want to try and find a 3/4 ton ff14 rear end if this is going on your 88 Jimmy, that way it is a direct bolt in and you won't have to have the spring perches moved. And by the way, I know that 1976 K20's came stock with 4.10's.

I'm pretty sure the perches will have to be moved and the shock mounts hang down farther which is great for running long shocks but bad if you like rocks.
