more 465/205 question

    I have another thread asking about part availablity...

    I am wondering specificlly about shaft conversions..
    Can a 465 be setup on a 205 like it is on a 203?
    Am I stuck with the 10 sline setup?

    What I would like to do is mate a 465 to a 205 and be able to double it up in the future without having to purchase all new drivetrain parts..

    Any help for the hoplessly lost and confused?

    Best way is to get a factory sm465/203 combo.

    This way, when you do find a 32 splined 205 and buy the doubler.. your rear driveshaft will not need to be shortened.

    That was my plan until a 32splined 205 came into my garage for nearly $0! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

    There is hope, don't have full details on it yet but you can go to 32 spline now in 465 and NP203 and have both fully compatible with the Doubler kit later. At this point it requires you use the long SM465/NP208 adapter housing for the NP203. If you have length problems with that adapter, there are ways to go shorter but that project is not complete and you run into problems with buying more than one adapter housing and not using it later.
    Moral of the story, yes there is hope. We don't have the parts immediately but they're on the way.
