more lift...should i?

    i've been seriously thinking about a 2" body lift for my '89 suburban. it has a 4" lift on it with 36"s and i can't hardly do anything without rubbing, witch i expected but i haven't cut my fenders yet, witch i hope to get around to here pretty soon. but another 2" of clearance would be good too. are there any bad sides to a 2" body lift?

    people that get good mileage aren't having any fun!

    I would say go with the body lift also. It doesn't put any more strain on your driveline but gives you more tire clearance. The only drawback is the visual aspects. In my opinion the body lift doesn't look as good as a susp. lift. On my blazer I have a 3" BL. The bumpers 'had' a large gap between them and the body. In the rear wheel well, you can see right through to the other side. Other than making a few cosmetic changes, I still think a body lift is a cheap way to go and easy to install.

    if you already plan on trimming fenders, just trim a litle more and skip the lift. that seems to be the favored trend these days. lift as little as possible then trim to fit the big tires.

    Lift? Who needs a lift. I've got a sawzall. I say hack those fenders.

    I'd say go for the one or two in Body lift if you want. Fender trimming is nice too. I love the way Steve's blazer looks w/ the fenders done and 37's. I'm thinking about a 2" and slight trim to run 38's myself

    2" body won't gurt at all.
    Cut the fenders also.
    It'll look good and solve your prob
