    whats a johny joint?

i have never heard of them? :dunno: sounds like what i maybe looking for! i have been drawinging alot lately, try'n to figure out how to get a heim joint on top of my shackles, so that i can get my shackles to lean like that.

i,ve also thought about using a piece of tubing the right size for the bushings, and come off off that with a piece of heavy threaded rod so it could rotate as the threads turn back and forth, just have to figure out how to mount the female threads to the truck, so i can screw my tubing and threaded rod to, also, doing it this way, i could have an infinite length shackle also, to a certain extent ,don't want to much of a span of the threaded rod, unless you use a piece large enuff that it won't bend , when its screwed out long, any other ideas:confused:

didn't mean to hijack your thread, but seeing you shackles leaning like that made me think of what i've been trying to engineer for myself, btw your rig looks really good...i love the look of those hummer bead locks, those are h1 rimes aren't they? how did you overcome the backspacing issue?:1zhelp:

Hummer H1 wheels cut and recentered... basically they cut out the center portion of the front cover and then weld in a new center farther back in the wheel. there are multiple write ups over on pirate about them. Mine had already been cut and welded... I just had to finish them up.

Those are Johnny joints, I sold the wheels/tires and shackle flip with johnny joints on Sat morning about 11:30 AM. Looks like he was a busy boy yesterday.

    i see...just a little more info please

when you say weld in a new center is this because the center you cut out won't span the rim any more, or can you just move the rims original center, if not, what kind of center do most guys use to go back in the rim??

Drove it home from the shop for the first time last night... can you say tire vibration... LOL, I knew it would have it but man.. So after all the debates about putting airsoft bbs in the tires for balance I must say thats what Im gonna do again. I did love the reaction from a lady in a little bmw convertable... she did the classic double take when she looked over to merge into my lane and all she saw was Irok...:D
