Where do you down load songs from ? How many songs do they hold ? How long does it take to down load with dial up ?

    Thanks Allen

I download from Limewire and/or Imesh. I'm sure there are probably better sites out there.

How many songs it will hold depends on the amount of memory you have.

You can do it with dial up but it will take a loooooooong time. I would start some songs downloading before you go to bed at night and let them run all night.

i use bearshare to download, it works good, no real complaints... as for the player... it depends on what you get some ipods will hold 10,000 songs or more, ive got an ipod mini and ive got 812 songs in it right now and still like 20% free space left... i cant speak for any other players on the market but ipods are great, its the last MP3 player you'll need.

Another vote for limewire. I download movies and videos from there also.

You can set your downloading program to download only a certain number of songs at a time. With dial up, I would choose a low number, maybe only 2, 3, or 4 songs at time. You can search and find all the songs you want and cue them, then go to sleep and wake up to see what you have.

I use allofmp3.com, it is a Russian site that features tons of artists and 320 bitrate downloads for most of their music. Cost is minimal: 1 cent per megabyte. Typical xfer rate is 140 kbs. I will never use napster, limewire, kazaa or any of that stuff again.

The website is secure and is linked to CardGuard, otherwise I wouldn't use it.

I use it for the xfer rates and bitrates. I never really cared for bearshare, but I never gave it a thorough run. I don't mind shelling out a couple of bucks for ad free, no pop-up ever music downloading. I know it isn't for everyone, but I'm hooked on it now.

yeah bearshare runs its ads through a program called 'Save'... when you turn on the computer, go into the task manager and close it and you dont get any pop ups.. if you leave it running you will but i never get any.
