i loved seeing that when i passed thru there 2 years ago, but the one thing i hated was the visitors center, i mean i went there to see one of the nations most recognizable and cherished landmarks, i wasnt too happy to see how they horribly overpriced everything in there...
i hope all the profit goes to the upkeep of the place, but seriously i went in for food and came out with a post card because that was the only thing i could afford...

When I was stationed at Ellsworth, we used to go there about once a week. I would either be on my ZX7 Ninja racing through the hills or in my Chevy SB 4x4 in the mountains. We hung out up by white sands outside of Keystone quite a bit also. It always seemed that Mount Rushmore was always on the route back, and a good place to gather. I kinda miss it sometimes /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I left SD in Aug of 94. Those names don't ring a bell; but that doesn't mean I haven't been there. I did a lot of target shooting all over the Black Hills. I always wanted to retire in the Lead area, just outside of Deadwood. I figure I could work at the Casino part time for entertainment and enjoy the mountains & country living. Doubtful, but maybe someday!!

I'd like to get a house on the Lead side of the road that runs through Spearfish Canyon.
