Hey guys, I just wanted to show you some photos of Ronald Reagans Air Force 1. We pumped the concrete on the museum and when I returned one day, I got a tour by the crew chief of Boeing. Pretty cool. The museum will also be home to Marine 1 and one of the jet fighters that was a chase plane. It's located in Simi Valley, California.

"Air force 1" and "Marine 1" are what anycraft of that service the President is in would be called. When he debarks the craft it returns to its regular identification marker. Ther are actually 3 helicopters that fly togethre anytime the President flies. All you see is 3 of the green Choppers taking off and you don't know which one he is in. If the VP is in the craft it would be called AF 2, Marine 2, etc.

Cool pics! Cool timing, too, I'm developing a fascination with aircraft with my son now... I sat looking at planes on militaryphotos.net with my son today. You get some interesting experiences in that job!

Cool stuff! You can tell it's been a while since that aircraft's had some lovin', the unpainted area along the belly usually shined like chrome from being so polished. Hopefully whoever runs the museum will polish it up and keep it that way...

Ratch, if you'd like to see how I spent 11 years of my life as a CH-53E mechanic and crewchief, check out these pics. Lots of cool stuff in here for you and your son to see. It's an official DoD site, so there's nothing kids shouldn't see (in my opinion, anyway...)
**WARNING** Dial-ups beware; there's over 300 pics archived, and the fullsize images are HUGE!
