for the next so cal outting I was thinking a mud trip. I've heard Azusa is pretty dry right now and I'm waiting to hear for sure. But I've been hearing alot of the canyon guys are going up to Little Rock Dam. Thats just up the 14 on the south end of Palmdale. I believe you take Pearblossom HW. Anyways I've never been up there and it's suppose to be fun. some maybe we should take a chance and check that place out. it would just be a day trip.

Date-wise I'm thinking after thanksgiving but before christmas. So my vote is

Dec 3rd--might be tough if I end up with breakage after the dunes
    OR
    Dec 10th--my first choice.

what say the rest of ya?

I woudl be down for a nearly December trip, tell me more about the location, I tried looking it up but found zero 4x4...also, we would probably camp for the night since it is a pretty long drive for us sissy types (namely me).

Little rock is hard to find info on since it's been closed for so long. but uit reopened about a year ago. I'm trying to get some pictures from the ACORA guys.

Its not much but it's something.

Little rock dam has signs to the dam. Then just go to the end of the water, turn left at the gate and drive into the mud.

I still don't know where this place is adn what it is all about. I am into it, but to be honest, driving three hours in that truck for a 20 x 20 mud hole 6 inches deep is not too hihg on my list of things to do...now tell me it is a Azuza type setup and well, I would love to see how my Ground Hawgs do in the mud since I already know how they do on the rocks.. :doah:

A lot of the areas at the dam is closed off. I dont know where that trail is or if its closed. There are other dirt roads near it but I have only been on one of them (it had a nice pucker moment on the way back). The mudding area is not too big but sundays is when everyone out here goes to it. I should go do a recon I guess

Santiago has been closed for a few years and is pretty much considered lost. There is a huge dispute with the greenies on that trail so it most likely will never reopen.
