    So here I am trying to save some money to buy a nuch of furniture so I can move out of the dorms and into an apartment/house within the next couple months. Then I go up to the shop to pull the motor out of my '78 and I see this Brown/Gold metallic 76 Nova Custom sitting up there. Aside from the hit on the right fender and door (totalled, salvage title), it's a damn clean car. Immaculate interior, and only 86k on the ticker! Looks like it has the original L6 and tranny as well.

    Now here's the kicker, $850 :eek1::eek1:

    Furniture... or Nova... Furniture... or Nova... Furniture... or Nova...

    Touche!

    I'll be paid extra money starting February to move off base (BAS and BAH), aroube $800 a month total I think. I just wanted to try to get all my furniture early so the initial cost of moving out wouldn't be too high; like moving into an unfurnished apartment without any furniture at all would be big $$$$, but if I already have a bed, dresser, desk, couch, coffee table, etc. then it won't be so much.

    I think I'll just drool all over the car every time I'm up at the shop :)

    Nova...eech!

    A '76 Nova isn't that desireable really,IMO..now if it were a 62-67,or a 68-72,THEN I'd be excited if I were you..(but to each his own!)..

    My friends used car lot has a 1982 Corvette with a 350 that has cross-fire fuel injection..black,car is in real nice shape,but has a "drain" on the battery--supposedly the owner spent over a grand having the dealer try to fix its electrical gremlins (it drains the battery flat in 2-3 days)..I think it just needs an alternator,sounds like its diodes are shot,and sounds like a stonecrusher..

    I was told the owner is very sick,and is desparate to sell it..I asked my friend what the bottom dollar price was,and he said I could probably get it for 2000 bucks!..:eek1: ...I need a "Vette" like a hole in the head,and don't have 2 grand to blow--but MAN,I'd love to have THAT for a "hot rod"...I love the tilt nose,its easy to work on,and it BOOGIES!...:bow: ..if only I were RICH...:doah: --I could drive it a few years and sell it for twice that most likely..:(
