I have been avoiding posting for help on this because I just know that it is going to be easy. I cannot get the flippin door handles off of my 76 K5. So, please help me so I can paint my truck. Thanks-

I took both of the bolts off and the handle is hanging there. But I cannot unhook the rod that connects it to the mechanics of the door

I have taken both nuts off of the inside, and so the handle will pull away from the door. But I cannot figure out how to completely unhook it. it is still attatched by the rod that attatches to the mechanics of the door. Either way, inside or out, I just want to pull the handle off so I can finish sanding and paint it

should be a simple clip that the rod goes thru the clip and the inside lever. then it flips down and clips on the rod.. tho its been awhile since i took mine apart..

    Yep...those clips usually rust-up...
PB Blaster is what I had to use to get mine off last week..
My clip just would slide on the latch mechanism...
But after soaking that thing down..I got it to move..

It helps to have a nice pick set..
I used my hook style pick..and a long flat blade screwdriver.. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
