OK. I just got back from the MWSK5T (Midwest Spring K5 Thing) that Mudzer has put on and the Diesel just makes me happy. You wanna know HOW good the Diesel is...well...here ya go.

First rule that should be addressed is that when crossing water that is deep....do not go fast. I broke this rule. You got it...HYDROLOCK!! It was locked up good. Everyone thought I was a gonner and so did I. Wouldn't even crank over. Now I think any gasser engine would have self distructed at this point. Nope...Diesel still ready. Had to pull all the glow plugs (Thanks Tyler and Arkansas!!) Wouldn't even crank over then. Got underneath in the goo. HAND CRANK. It finally turned over and from below I could hear people going "Holy SH!T" cuz there was that much water in it. The more experienced people there guessed that my 6.2 ltr had about 6 ltr of water in it. Think that Diesel will ever die...NO. Got in and cranked it...it cranked and cranked. The water was out. Put the glow plugs back in. Would you guess it fired right up??!?!? Now thats an engine!! There is no water in my oil, everything is great!! Cept for one little froggie floating around everthing is good. Now you tell me what kinda engine can take that abuse, be hydrolocked, cranked while hydrolocked, start afterward, and then still do two days worth of hard trail riding without a hitch!!

All you people who say "Diesel Sucks" Come trail ride with me...I show ya.

Thanks to Neil and everyone who put their time effort into the MWSK5T. I can't wait for next year.

Nick, you were just a VERY lucky individual that day. If your batteries would have had enough ass to turn over the motor, you would have surely bent a rod.......NEway, I was glad for you when we got it started. BTW, you got mud all over my spare tire when you rode in the back of my truck back to camp.....I guess the rain will take care of that. Hope to wheel with ya again sometime in the future.......I just won't EVER follow YOU!! ........A-Huh, A-Huh, A-Huh.....Damn diesels. todd

DieselDan: Ya...I am looking into it now. BIG snorkel!!! You going to the DieselPage thing in Ohio?

thebigdaddyof2: The Diesel smell ain't that bad. My batteries were full of juice. Its just that at 20+:1 compression ratio it was kinda hard to turn over. There was mud on your spare. Oh sorry....next time I will attach it to the back and drag it through the pit. I got some pics of your "accident" if you wanna see em I will send you the addy.

Oh...come on now. Your truck only looked like PigPen when it went up a hill of any incline more than a parking lot. Heh, heh. I hope the Georgia boys weren't too unhappy with my slick manuver on the last trail. NEway, I would love to see what pics you went home with. I know you took several rolls full. I hope someone got a few good pics of your "fountain of youth" impressions. Heh, heh. L8ter.

Yea...I wanna see them water hoel pics too!!! I hope someone took a picture of peoples faces when I hit that hole!! I would say also that the "left" side as Neil said is not the most shallow portion.
