I noticed this yesterday. My 12 bolt has started to leak from the yoke and dribble down the casing to the diff cover. I dunno why this has started, but I suspect it's from when the driveshaft fell out. Any idea what may have happened?

Mine was doing the same thing as yours but i kept putting it off and kept topping off the fluid until my last 4x4 trip when i got water in it and the oil that leaked out was white. So i decided to change the rear pinion seal. (probably the same with you). Disconnect the drive shaft at the rear and get it out of the way. Mine pinion nut was finger tight but i understand that they can be a P.I.A. Mark the nut to the yoke and the mark the yoke to the axle housing or count the teeth so you know where to tighten it back to, then pop the old seal out with a screwdriver and install the new one with a little grease and that its pretty much it.
