My grandpa. We call him BigDaddy. He had a really bad stroke and his heart is bad too and my aunt and uncle elected not to use a feeding tube. The doctors said they don't think he's going to live to the end of this week, so my aunt and uncle are just trying to keep him as comfortable as possible.

Sorry, Baby.....I know it hurts......Something a friend sent me when I lost my son.....

    And if I go
    While you're still here...
    Know that I live on
    vibrating to a different measure
behind a thin veil you cannot see through
    You will not see me
    so you must have faith
I wait for the timewhen we can soar together again
    both aware of each other
Until then, live your life to it's fullest
    and when you need me
Just whisper my name in your heart
    ...and I will be there

Deepest condolences to you and yours - you know where to find me if you feel the need for a shoulder to (figuratively) lean on.

We're all here for you, kiddo. Just, as always, think about the good times in the past. Lost my grands and parents long ago...treasure the good moments.

    Lara,
I'm going through the same thing right now. We just found out my Papa has cancer of the lungs, intestine and liver. He is in the V.A. hospital. My Nannie just had to decide yesterday to go with the feeding tube or not. It was a tough decision, but she opted not to. They said it would just prolong the agony. He is the closest thing I have to a "real" dad, he walked me down the aisle when I got married. It sucks so bad to see him like he is now, and I understand completely what you are going through. It sucks and it's not fair. I'll put you on my prayer line.
    Be strong.
    *big hug*
    Michelle~

When my Father died, it was a relief in many ways. He lived in pain for years, had numerous health problems, and was legally disabled.

Still was the most tragic moment in my life so far.
    My thoughts are with you.
